5 year old subs for retiring Russian soccer player

Retiring players are often removed from their final games a bit early in order to get one last standing ovation in front of a full crowd, but they’re not usually replaced by kids. That’s what happened to Vadim Evseev of Belarus’ Torpedo Zhodino, who left the field for a final time, only to see the 5-year-old son of the CEO of a Russian children’s charity take his place. Both clubs agreed to the stunt as a thank you to the charity, which hosts local soccer camps for kids. The boy himself, Khrisan Dzeus, certainly wasn’t charitable to his opponents on the pitch, weaving through defenders in his new uniform to knock home a goal, and the look on his elated face after the score is priceless. It’s great to see two careers end well
